Take off your reality cap and think about the buildings you pass each day. Ever wonder how they were feeling? Probably not... But say, somehow, they could express themselves to depict how they were doing that day, what they were thinking about. Could be fascinating!

Now, travel to Germany (bring me back a classy stein while you're there, please!) and stand in front of the Gallerie der Gegenwart. The good folks at URBANSCREEN have taken the idea of building facades transforming depending on their "thoughts" and "mood" and put it into action. Gigantic hands move the squares projected on the side of this building, "pulling" them and pushing them back in, creating new windows and colors, and generally entertaining the masses.

Upon first glance, these pictures appear to be miniature versions of sporting events... But David Burnett's photographs, taken at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, are actually a result of tilt-shift photography. By altering the plane of focus and line of site, very low depth of field is created, making people and their surroundings appear quite tiny.

London artist INSA teamed up with Nike for the IAM1 campaign, to create 35 hand-painted pieces throughout the city. The collection, entitled, "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places," will be on display at Nike Sportswear Store 1948 in Shoreditch. In addition to being a retail store, 1948 also features gallery space, where the exhibit will be displayed.

Taking the remix to the next level, Otto is a new prototype that enables real-time manual beat slicing. The brainchild (and master's thesis) of Luca De Rosso, made using open-source hardware, the handheld electronic instrument lends the user the sense of holding the sampled music in their hands.

It works by connecting to a computer and using software to feed the sample into the device, which then displays a visualization of the music in lights. The graphic representation enables precise cutting and manipulation, an interface sure to win fans among deejays and experimental musicians alike.

Reminds me of the light boxes (physical and online) that people have been using recently for looping beats.

Artist Jae Hyo Lee has developed a new take on the "bed of nails" by hammering hundreds of nails into a slab of wood stained with black patina. The nails were then strategically bent and filed down to accentuate the silver and to smooth them out.

Designer Ryan McElhinney has constructed items, including the featured lamps, as well as mirrors framed with action figures, as a way to keep homes classy but playful. Each piece is hand-crafted by McElhinney in his London studio, where he binds the toys then coats them in a High Gloss polyurethane laquer.

This particular vodka is from Spain. The brothers Fernando and Esteban Banus are producing the arguably most pure vodka of the world at present with Blat (from catalan: grain). This means that the degree of impurity is below the actual technical traceable level– even though Blat is distilled in the old traditional way.

This design transfers this purity: in a clear and puristic form and function with a logo which is just lucent and embossed. The bottle consists of 100 % clear medical glass. The strengthened bottom of the bottle and the special glass grinding at the bottom show the haptic quality of a typical vodka glass. Advanced vodka – independent, classic design.

One of the most well-respected pro skaters in the biz, Stefan Janoski finally got his own long-overdue shoe with Nike SB. In keeping with his relaxed, nonchalant skate style, the Zoom Janoski is a clean, comfortable and functional shoe.

Nike's second signature model, it's a marked departure from their first—a Paul Rodriguez shoe which is more beefy and athletic-looking, again following P-Rod's skate style. Instead, Janoski's minimalist version is one you could wear skating or just walking around. The upper takes a line from the classic Nike SB Blazer but a leather lining lends more durability. Leather laces also mean you won't chew through them after a few kick flips, a vulcanized outsole keeps the look clean, makes for great grip and the Zoom Air bag cushions and protects the heel. In addition, at Stefan's request, the shoe's initial release will come with a limited-edition cork sockliner.

Wolfram Alpha Computational Knowledge Engine

Considered a "computational knowledge engine" by British founder Stephen Wolfram. It's more of an answer-engine that relies on its curated knowledge base of data, rather than rounding up websites based on keywords. Boasting north of 10 trillion pieces of data and over 50,000 algorithms, Wolfram instead draws from sources like the U.S. Census reports, the CIA World Factbook and even Wikipedia.

The result is a great aid when looking for hard data, such as populations, time zones, stock quotes or mathematical equations. It stumbles, though, with more subjective matters and will never match the breadth of information on the World Wide Web, no matter how many data sources it collects. But fortunately, launched just days ago, Wolfram expects to continually grow its database and it might become indispensable tool—along with your favorite search engine, of course.
